Yesterday was one of those days where you have to laugh to keep from crying. After work, I headed home because I wanted to get a workout in before starting dinner and handling business. Then off I go out the door and wham! I realize that I’m on the outside and my keys are on the inside. Locked out. I just laughed to myself. I went across the hall to the neighbors and borrowed their phone. When I told them what happened they said "that happened to us last week." I called the office, where I always leave a spare key and asked my dear friend Celina to messenger the key to me. Thirty minutes later the key arrives. I could have easily decided not to work out, but I pressed through - laughing while on the elliptical machine. Once entering my abode, I recanted the story to my mom who told me she was on her way home - my aunt had locked herself out of the house. It must have been "lock yourself out of the house day." After all this the only thing I wanted to do was take a relaxing bath. I added some of my Quench All-Over Body Oil made with shea butter. I not only used it in the bath, but on me after I got out of the tub. The oil is unscented, but I added a few drops of lavender essential oil for relaxation. I could a healthy squash gratin and watched Amelie again.
It seems my spa day had turned out well after all.
Thank you all for the warm wishes. I’m feeling much better. I guess my body was saying to slow it down a bit. I listened loud and clear. I also started the spring "body beautiful" campaign of getting back in the swing of things. To start off - a full body mud mask. I’ve written about my love of Borghese’s Fango Mud, but when I found out that Bloomingdale’s had the Fango Mud in Pink I nearly lost my marbles. It’s the same fabulous mud, but the pink is so cute in the bath caddy that it was hard to open up and use it. I woke up this morning and decided today is the day. Let’s see if the mud get me in the mood, despite the 17 degree temperature today. I did my mud thing while listening to the morning news and drinking a cup of tea. Once I finished the full body application, then "showered, shaved and shined" - my body was thanking me.
I also thanked myself for having some "me time."
CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) has two major effects: it helps the body burn fat and therefore contributes to weight loss, and it enhances the metabolic process of muscle growth
I wasn’t very wowed at this year’s Grammy Awards. I kept thinking am I watching the Grammy’s or the Golden Globes with all the long dresses. I thought the Grammy’s were about fresh and fun. The one person that I loved was Alicia Keys in Armani with the curly mohawk. I loved that she had a little color on her lips that matched her handbag. It was different and pretty at the same time. Of course, Rihanna in Zac Posen. It was young, fun, fresh, and distinctive of how she has the "it" factor with a little edge. Her makeup is always deliriously pretty. Fantasia - there are no words, except "what the hell?" Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. I was happy that she cut the weave, but wasn’t moved by the color and design of the dress. I saw beautiful photos of the Armani Prive couture collection and there were a few dresses which would have looked divine on her. But, I can forgive you, since you rocked out with Ms. Tina on "Proud Mary." I loved Carrie Underwood’s dress, but the Barbarella hair was not really doing it. Miley Cyrus looked cute in her white Celina - not to old because she is still a teenager. I was in love with her Sergio Rossi shoes. I’m still waiting for my beloved Oscars. I hope someone will be rocking my beauty world then.
Yesterday’s Pro Bowl signaled the true end to the NFL season. I only have five more months until training camp. I can be very patient. I’m stalking some Manolo’s to go on sale right now.

Everything was going great backstage at Tuleh, until I whipped out my camera and realized I didn’t have the battery. So I’m putting a photo from Style.com to showcase Polly Osmond’s work. The skin was semi-matte with not a bronzer in site - foundation and powder only. The eyes, I really loved the eyes. I like to call this a chocolate and gold smoky eye. Metallic gold, bronze, chocolate, and rose gold were all used on the eye. Four colors that when blended and applied properly look divine. Polly used lots of mascara and the look was complete. If you notice there isn’t much blush, because the look was shading. To top of the look, a toffee lip color was created using MAC’s 2N Lip glass from the N Collection. I love this look and think I will recreate it, but go really easy on the lower lash liner with the metallic gold.

I just saw this cover and I was like "you go Ms. Eva" or "you go "Mrs. Parker." The color is so bright and spring-like. But there is my girl rocking the beautiful makeup and let’s not mention that piece of sparkle on her hand. I’ve been looking at winter clothes and makeup and it is so nice to see something that brightens my day. Plus, I can’t wait to plan some spring purchases to go with my spring products.
Ready, set, spring is almost here. Let’s get ready to glow girl.

The worse thing that can happen being home on a Saturday afternoon with a strong wireless connection is perusing Neiman Marcus online. I have been existing on soup, water, juices, and lots of tea. Being sick does not make a girl feel especially beautiful, but I’m trying to make a concerted effort. My skin appears a little sallow, but a mask will take care of that. I was feeling "whoa is me" until I saw this photo. I am a goner. I started to feel like me again. I started thinking that spring is on its way. I begin to think you must order this now - which is what I did.
I’m starting to feel a little pretty and that is a good thing.
Stila was the makeup line responsible for the clean and understated look at Marchesa Fall 2008. The look called for lots of lashes, which I love. If you are the creators of red-carpet ready dresses, you have got to have the lashes to match. Talia Shobrook has been creating gorgeous looks to match Marchesa's dresses for a few seasons.
Here is the rundown which was provided to me. Step One: Skin - the look was matte and pale using Stila Sheer Pressed Powder and Perfecting Concealer. Step Two: Eyes - neutron tones with a smoky eye using Stila Eye Shadow in Chinois to brow bones; next apply shadow in Bouquet and Kamet to the creases of the eyelids and lash line. Line the lower outer rim with Kajal Liner in Smoky Quartz. Finish with Major Lash Mascara over lashes. Step Three: Cheeks - Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain created a bright blush. Applied with fingertips to the high apples of the cheeks, blending out until the color becomes a soft stain. Step Four: Lips - Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain applied directly to lips and topped with lipstick in Caicos using fingertips.
It's a beauty news Friday and I'm stuck at home with the flu. Yes, I'm feeling not so pretty. At first I thought it was a simple cold from being rundown, but the crazy symptoms I was having are far from a cold. I'm doing doctor's recommendations and lots of natural remedies as well. I must knock this out by the end of the weekend. There's a lot of beauty that still needs to be discussed. It's a slow week for beauty news due to Fashion Week.

What does it take to radiate sensual beauty? Wearing a little black dress? Putting on a splash of fragrance? Or, getting a new hair cut?
It is my belief that it takes all of that and more. The following steps are guaranteed to raise your sensual quotient. The steps are so basic that you'll be surprised to know that you first heard most of them from the wisest person that you know. Your mom!
1. Sleep
It is the foundation of your well being. Getting a good night's sleep is the key to a strong immune system, looking younger, maintaining weight and mental stability. Establish a nightly routine like turning off the television an hour before getting into bed. This will intuitively signal your brain that's time to wind down. Obtaining your zzz's will ensure that your eyes will sparkle and you'll radiate confidence and be a lot happier!
2. Soul Food
Nourishing your body with good organic food will not only add to the sparkle in your eyes, but, scrumptious eating will boost your energy. And eating dark leafy green salads dressed with fresh garlic, onions and flaxseeds will not only help your skin look amazing, you'll also be getting a ton of antioxidants which fight free radicals(environmental pollution). And, these foods are loaded vitamins A, B, C, magnesium and calcium. Top it off with olive oil, walnuts and salmon and you'll not only exude health you will shed a few pounds over time. And, I'm sure that will increase your sassiness factor!
3. Get Physical
Working up a good sweat activates your body's endorphins. These are your happy feelings. But, if you must know the technical explanation, endorphins are neurotransmitters that are activated during intense physical excretion and in turn, signal the brain to be happy. So, whether you choose to work up your sweat in the gym, by going for a run or....with your sweetie, you'll glow with pure contentment.
4. Stay In School
Okay, this may not seem like the type of thing you'd think of when looking to increase your sensuality, but trust me here; taking up a new hobby keeps your mind and body rejuvenated. There are a plethora of activities and hobbies to choose from. If you like to work with your hands you could take a sculpting class or, learn massage therapy which of course should be practiced regularly with your sweetie.
5. Smile and Laugh Often
This is by far the most import step when seeking to boost your sensuality factor. This makes you look good but more importantly it makes other people feel and look good to! Smiling and laughter releases stress takes years off of your age and, did you know that a big belly laugh is also a mini workout for your abs? What a way to avoid crunches!
6. Go Shopping!
To be a true Sensual Beauty, it is imperative that shopping for Diva essentials like new lipstick, shoes and of course a little black, red or blue dress, be done at least once per month. Besides, all of the power walking from one end of the mall to the other, burns calories and works your glutes! Now, what's not to love about that? I can see you smiling.
7. Time Out
Take time to be still and just do nothing. Relax with music, a cup of chamomile tea, candles and a soak in the tub. Enhance the experience by adding a few drops of lavender or patchouli essential oil to the bath water. After you emerge, for sure you'll feel like Venus, the goddess of love and beauty.
Follow these seven steps regularly and you are guaranteed to increase your happiness, confidence and of course your inner and outer beauty.
Have A Sparkling Day!
